Abstract :

Context: Nasal morphology is one of the important component and prominent feature of facial form. Thus an ideal nasal form is the key part for obtaining good facial esthetics. Aim: To evaluate the relationship between maxillary inclination and nasal morphology in females. Materials and Methods: 44 females subjects were selected for the study (age: 19 to 30 years) and subjected to cephalometric radiography. The lateral cephalograms were traced and divided into three groups based on rotation of maxilla. The nasal features of these three groups were evaluated and compared using mean, standard deviation, Students�t� test and ANOVA. Results: The results suggested statistically significant correlation of nasal height, nasal bone length, nasal depth, nasal length, nasolabial angle and upper lip inclination angle in different maxillary inclination group. Conclusion: The nasal height, nasal depth, nasal bone length, nasolabial angle, upper lip inclination angle, all had maximum value in retroinclination group.
