Right hand sided mobile phone users (72%) were more than the left hand sided mobile phone users. The overall salivary flow rate was 1.5 fold more on dominant side as compared to non–dominant side. Conclusion: In the present study, the parotid gland’s salivary flow rate, amylase level and its volume was increased, whereas, the protein level was decreased on the dominant side as compared to the non–dominant side of the mobile phone users. Research has demonstrated that changes in the saliva and parotid gland have taken place. Hence, further research is required in this field to ing into the light the harmful effects of these radiations and also to make the people aware of possible oral health problems that can arise as a result of over – usage of mobile phones.
