Abstract :

A field investigation entitled "Effect of foliar application of marine algal sap on growth, yield and quality of summer Green gram” was carried out to explore the knowledge and to test its suitability as an alternative organic source of nutrients during the summer season of 2012–2013. Growth characters viz., plant height, number of anches, leaf area, leaf area index were maximum with treatments K sap at 15 % and G sap at 15 % concentration along with 100 % RDF while chlorophyll content index, dry matter, number of leaves, root length was maximum with application of K sap 20 % and G sap 20 % concentration along with 100 % RDF. Nutrients content of grains and straw was found significantly higher in treatment K sap at 15 % followed by G sap at 15 %. Gross monetary return, net monetary return and B:C ratio recorded maximum with application of 15 % K sap followed by application of 15 % G sap at concentration.
