Abstract :

The paper deals with reproductive capacity and its relation to length and weight and sex ratio of Macroachium dayanum collected from stream Gho-Manhasan in Jammu, J&K. Fecundity of prawn varied from a minimum of 37 to maximum of 135 in prawn measuring from 4.8 cm to 6.4cm in length and 2.25gm to 2.7gm in weight respectively. Sex ratio showed that Macroachium dayanum deviated from the ratio 1:1 and female dominate over male Macroachium dayanum. The correlation of fecundity-total length, fecundity-body weight relationship of all the species were positive.
