IMPACT OF RENEWABLE ENERGY SOURCES WITH REFRENCE TO ENERGY SCENERIO OF INDIA

Abstract :

India is slowly making sure its place in world‘s top economies. India is second largest populated country after China, and soon it‘s going to take over it within few decades. Present population of India comprises more than 18% of world‘s population. ?e vast geographical area ranging some 3000 kms, makes it much diverse. India is one of the fastest developing nations. Naturally it is a challenge from energy point of view to feed the hunger of energy for such a huge populated country with vast geographical area. ?e energy demand of India is constantly increasing many folds. Just in the last six decades the rise is sixteen times..! Due to high urbanization, higher living standard, and fast economic reforms the demand has increased. However the significant point to note is that the gap between generation and demand is also increasing..! In such view, it becomes necessary to analyse the available options with all merits and demerits. ?e major power generation comes from the non–renewable resources. Day by day these resources are diminishing, hence it is a need of an hour to target concentration on renewable resources. Present paper emphasises the role of renewable sources to sustain the future demand.
