INTACT CANAL WALL MASTOIDECTOMY WITH TYPE III TYMPANOPLASTY, USING REFASHIONED INCUS AND PARTIAL OSSICULAR REPLACEMENT PROSTHESIS : A COMPARATIVE STUDY.

Abstract :

Unsafe chronic Otitis Media causes a constant Ear discharge, hampers heå and can be fatal as well. .Various types of Tympanomastoid surgeries along with different ossiculolplasty materials are in practice to keep Ear dry and improve heå. In this study 15 patients under went tympanoplasty with refashioned Incus , while rest half of the patients with Hydroxyapetite partial ossicular reconstruction prosthesis. Both groups had canal wall up Masoidectomy,and was found to be successful procedure to relieve symptoms of Ear discharge. The results of heå were better with PORP than refashioned Incus, but the results were not statistically significant.
