Liquidliquid Extraction of cadmium by 3methylquinoxaline2thione from Phosphoric Medium

Abstract :
Recovery of cadmium with3–methyl–2–quinoxaline–2–thione (LH) from phosphoric acid is investigated as a function of pH, and analytical concentration of Cd(II), and extractant ( C_(LH) ? ). A recovery of 70 to 80% is achieved with LH 0.13 and 0.26M at pH 3.5. Extraction is a complex process which often results in combining two predominant reactions that conventional slope analysis cannot directly be used to determine the extracted species.
