Dr Nagre Amarja S
Abstract :
Nalbuphine is known as a potent analgesic. It is a synthetic partial kappa agonist and mu antagonist opoid of the phenanthrene series. It has less side
effects like nausea, vomiting and respiratory depression. The onset of action of nalbuphine is 5–10 minutes and duration of action is 3–6 hours. It has
minimal side effects with the dosage of 0.2–0.4 mg/kg. Accordingly, we compiled this study using nalbuphine as a supplement to balanced
anesthesia and postoperative analgesia in off pump coronary artery bypass (OPCAB) patients.Nalbuphine was used as an adjuvant during
induction and maintenance of anesthesia and evaluation of hemodynamics and postoperative analgesia was done.
