Noise Removal From Brain CT Images

Bhavna Sharma

Abstract :

Image analysis is an important and challenging task in the computer-aided diagnostic systems. In medical image processing and especially in analysis task, it is very important to pre-process the image. Noise contained in ain images throttle both, the visual interpretation by experts as well as processing and analysis. This paper compares various standard filters for removing noise from ain CT scan images. This improves their performance in analysis task and also in visual quality of the images. We compared the filters by evaluating the ain images in terms of Peak Signal to Noise Ratio (PSNR), Mean Square Error (MSE), Signal to Noise Ratio (SNR) and Execution Time (ET).
