Dr. Safiya I. Shaikh, Dr. Rohini Dattatri

Abstract :

Osteogenesis imperfecta is an inherited connective tissue disorder with multi–system involvement.Commonly encountered complications include difficult airway, coagulation dysfunction , respiratory compromise due to skeletal deformity , congenital cardiac anomalies and these issues pose an anaesthetic challenge due to inherent complications associated with it. Proper pre–operative evaluation, preparation and vigilant intra–operative management will improve the outcome in these patients.
