Abstract :

The ideal treatment for displaced intraarticular calcaneal fractures is still under debate. Open reduction and internal fixation is the most popular surgical procedure; however, wound complications, hardware failure and infection remain a major concern.1,2,3.   Aims: assess the outcomes and efficacy of treatment of fracture calcaneum by close reduction and cement augmentation (minimally invasive percutaneous technique). Settings and Design: :50 patient underwent Hospital based prospective interventional study, from April 2015 to December 2016, 50 patient with calcaneum fracture who meet inclusion criteria . Results: : All cases progressed to bony union in 2–3 months . According to AOFAS score, clinical results were excellent in 12  cases, good in 25  and fair in 12 cases and poor in one case. Conclusions: A minimum 1 year follow–up, the results are very encouraging. Percutaneous calcaneoplasty is a idge between ORIF with plating and conservative method including benefit of both. Our study  shows fairly good result and associated with minimum economic burden & complication and early return to daily activities.
