Abstract :

The corona–viridae family, an enveloped RNA virus family were historically known to be responsible for a large proportion of infections. This pathogen, responsible for emerging diseases in humans, with risk of fatal outcomes; underline the pressing need for new approaches to the management of the infection, and primarily its prevention. Finally, taking into consideration the lacking of specific antiviral treatments, the coronaviridae specificities make them a challenging model for the development of efficient means of prevention, as an adapted antisepsis–disinfection, to prevent the environmental spread of such infective agents. This paper will summarize the current knowledge on efficacy of well known iodine against coronaviruses.
