Abstract :

Delineation of proximal urethra in voiding cystourethrogram (VCUG) in stricture urethra provides an anatomical road map for surgery. Aim of this study is to evaluate role of suprapubic pressure, forward tilting head end of fluoroscopy table and Silodosin in opening bladder neck in VCUG. A randomized placebo controlled prospective study of 182 stricture urethra patients from November 2014 to June 2015 was conducted. 94 patients (50.6%), who did not open their bladder neck spontaneously, did not respond either to suprapubic pressure or table tilting. Out of 46 patients, on placebo, only 8 patients (17.4%), while out of 48 patients on Silodosin, 42 patients (87.5%) opened their bladder neck (p<0.0001). There was no difference in response to Silodosin in PFUDD, penile or bulbar strictures (p=0.33)
