Professional Requirements of LIS Professionals in E–World and Digital Environment: A Case Study of Public Libraries in Rajasthan

Abstract :

The Rapid development of information and communication technologies has revolutionized the way in which information is collected, organised and accessed. An attempt has been made to study the role played by the Public Liaries in the socio-economic and educational development of nation. The services provided by these liaries could depend on the skills of the liary professionals. Taking into consideration the importance of public liaries and technological changes that takes place today, the investigators conducted a survey to understand the liary professional staff working in public liaries of Rajasthan, highlighted that the ICT Knowledge of the Liary professional are significantly very low and need serious attention by the liary authority of the state.
