Abstract :

This study was aimed to estimate current status of physico–chemical characteristic of Barua sagar lake. Monthly changes in physic–chemical parameters such as water temperature, pH, total dissolved solids, dissolved oxygen, alkalinity, total hardness, calcium, magnesium, chlorides, sodium, biological oxygen demand, manganese, cadmium and lead were analyzed for during January to December from year 2014 to 2015. The results indicated that the parameters of water sample in 2014 under permissible limit except than Cd, Pb and Mn but in 2015, total hardness, Mn, Cd, Pb and Cl were out of permissible limits, due to the burden of agricultural waste and human activities.
