Materials & Methods– A total number of 111 participants, (61 cases and 50 controls) attending ANC clinic of a tertiary care hospital, were recruited. Data on sociodemographic and clinical correlates were collected and fasting and post prandial Blood glucose, and HbA1c estimation was done was done in all participants. Results– In present study it is observed that HbA1c levels in GDM patients was significantly more than that those of normal pregnancy (6.30±0.587% verses 4.22±0.616%). (p=<0.001). Conclusion: The results show that HbA1c, in combination with OGTT, may be a useful screening tool for GDM.
