Abstract :

Stroke (Cereovascular accident) is considered to be one of the most common causes of mortality and long term severe disability. Aims and Objective : Role of plasma fiinogen in patients with Cereovascular accidents (Stroke ). Meterial and Methods : It is a hospital based Prospective analytical study,50 adult patients admitted in medical wards and acute medical care with first episode of stroke between period August 2016 to August 2018 in Sri Venkateswara Ram narain Ruia Government General Hospital, Tirupati , Andhra Pradesh, were included in the study . Results : Most common in the age group 50–69 years with mean age of 61.56 years. Males are more affected with male to female ratio of 3.5:1. Males have a higher mean fiinogen levels than females. There is statistically significant raise of fiinogen levels in smokers and Hypertensives but not in alcoholics and diabetics. Conclusion:. Elevated fiinogen level is one of the independent risk factor for stroke. .It is evident from this study that there is increased mortality with increase in fiinogen levels, higher the fiinogen levels poorer the outcome.
