Abstract :
Purpose: this study was done to assess the role of platelet rich plasma in healing of the wound. Materials and methods: 30 patients with identical bilaterally impacted mandibular third molars were selected for the study. Bilateral third molar surgery was carried out in the same appointment. PRP gel was placed in one extraction socket and other was left to heal naturally. Both sockets were closed primarily. Periodic evaluation was done using measurement of Bone density on KODAK digital radiographic software and evaluation of probing depth using Michigan ‘0’ Probe with Williams marking. Result: The results showed better soft tissue healing of extraction sockets with use of PRP in the early phase.
