RURAL MARKETING IN THE DEVELOPMENT PARADIGM

Abstract :

<p> Indian rural marketing has always been complex to forecast and consist of special uniqueness. However many companies were successful in entering the rural markets. They proved that with proper understanding of the market and innovative marketing ideas, it is possible to bag the rural markets. It is very difficult for the companies to overlook the opportunities they could from rural markets. As two–thirds of the Indian population live in rural areas, the market is vast than expected. For the companies to be successful in rural markets, they have to overcome certain challenges such as pricing and distribution. This paper on rural marketing gives examples of two companies who were successful in rural areas with their innovative marketing strategies. The rural market has been growing at five times the pace of the urban market</p>
