Abstract :

Background & Objective: Transvaginal mesh (TVM) is a minimally invasive but effective treatment for pelvic organ prolapsed (POP). Our goal was to report the preliminary results of a transvaginal mesh repair of genital prolapse using surgery. Methods: It was a hospital based prospective study conducted between January 2014 to June 2018 (Aweta mesh January 2014 to August 2017) and (Heme mesh September 2017 to June 2018). Total 109 female patients with POP underwent the TVM procedure. Results: AVM with VH was done in 38 (62.30%) in (Aweta mesh) old mesh and 4 (8.33%) in (Heme mesh) new mesh while AVM+VH+sling was done in 06 (9.84%) in group A and 12(25.0%) in group B. Regarding complications in Aweta mesh, recurrence prolapsed, mesh exposure, de novo SUI, dyspareunia, growing pain and back pain were not statistically significant in different follow up compared with before TVM. However, Pelvic pain was significantly decreased after 3rd and 6th months compared with before TVM. Especially different infections and different pain were gradually reduced after 3rd and 6th months compared with before TVM. It suggests that a transvaginal mesh seems to guide an established repair of the pelvic floor.
