Studies on primary productivity with special Reference to their physico–chemical status of Govindgarh Lake Rewa (M.P.), India

Abstract :

The present investigation has been carried out in Govindgarh Lake located in Rewa district, Madhya Pradesh. Primary productivity and physico–chemical parameters were estimated from July 2011 to June 2012. Gross primary production values ranged between 450 to 3950 mg C/m3 /d, Net primary production ranged between 275 to 3200 mg C/m3 /d, and Community respiration ranged from100 to 1000 mg C/m3/d. GPP, NPP and CR was higher in summer season due to favourable water temperature leading towards higher photosynthetic activity as well as metabolic rate. The primary productivity was influenced by various physico–chemical factors.
