Study of Action of Terfezia Boudieri Chatin, a Wild Edible Desert Truffle from Egypt on Morphological Features and Ultra Structures of Certain Bacterial and Fungal Isolates

Amal A. I. Mekawey

Abstract :

Scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and transmission electron microscopy (TEM) were used to study the effect of aqueous chloroform, acetone and methanol extracts of Terfeziaboudieri on morphological features and ultrastructures of four isolates including Gram positive and Gram negative bacteria such as Bacillus subtilisand Pseudomonas aeruginosaand filamentous fungi and unicellular fungi as Aspergillusnigerand Candida albicans, where previously showed highly sensitive to these extracts, respectively. Great changes (aggregation, distortion, elongation, swollen) of morphological features and alteration of ultra- organelles measurements of tested fungal isolates were reported.
