Study of efficacy of subcutaneous drain for prevention of surgical site infections in patient undergoing exploratory laparotomy for perforation peritonitis

Abstract :

BACKGROUND: A surgical site infection is an infection that occurs after surgery in the part of the body where the surgery took place. The aim of my study is To study the efficacy of subcutaneous closed suction drainage system for prevention of surgical site infection in a patient of Exploratory laparotomy for perforation peritonitis. CONCLUSION There was significant reduction is surgical site infection in patients of exploratory laparotomy for perforation peritonitis among whom subcutaneous suction drain was used at surgical site incision wound.
