Abstract :

Introduction– Pelvic organ prolapse (POP) affects millions of women worldwide. The prevalence of pelvic floor disorders in India is one of the highest in the world. Case report– In our case of previous multiple failed conservative surgeries, with recurrent uterovaginal prolapse, a total abdominal hysterectomy was done followed by suspension of vaginal vault to bilateral round ligaments. Conclusion– Round ligament with in situ assessment and refashioning can be used as native tissue to suspend the vaginal vault as a prophylactic measure and also as a therapeutic procedure in selected cases of recurrence of prolapse.
