Abstract :

(Z)-N-methyl-3-(2-phenylhydrazono)butanamide (I),has been obtained from the condensation of N-methyl3-oxobutanamide ( 0.10 mol) and phenyl hydrazine (0.10 mol).The compound is than converted to its N,3dimethyl-1-phenyl-1H-pyrazol-5-amine (II) and N-(methyl(3-methyl-1-phenyl-1H-pyrazol-5-yl)carbamothioyl) benzamide (III) by condensing with P2S5 and benzoyal chloride/ammonium thiocynate.Which on further reaction gives compound (IV).Led compound on reaction with P-Phenacyl omid gives compound (V). In presence of iron powder in acetic acid gives (VI).Further on reaction gives(VII) and its derivates(b-j). The synthesized compounds were evaluated for their in vitro antibacterial activity against gram positive and gram negative bacterial strains and two fungal species. The structures of the compounds were elucidated with the aid of IR, 1HNMr ,13C NMR.Mass spectroscopy and elemental analysis.
