Abstract :

A new series of 6–iodo quinazolin–4(3H) ones be� pyrazoline and quinoline moieties 6a–l were synthesized by the cyclisation of acrylamide 5a–l with phenyl hydrazine hydrate. The overall reaction was carried out by base catalyzed multistep process. The structural confirmations of the synthesized compounds were carried out on the basis of elemental analysis as well as IR and NMR spectra results. All the synthesized compounds were screened for in vitro antimicrobial activity.
