TEACHER EDUCATION AND TECHNOLOGY ORIENTATION

Abstract :

 Teacher education is a process aiming for the formation of positive attitudes towards teaching profession. Since, “Teaching is an art, a trained teacher alone can play a vital role in education as well as the society.” For that technology plays a major role in Teacher Education. Technology is an important component of the teaching–learning process. It helps teachers and learners to improve teaching and learning. A good teacher should use technology from time to time. It is, therefore, imperative for teachers to be well versed with the technologies. Various techniques (subjective, objective and projective) are developed and are in use in Teacher Education. Subjective techniques are based on the information supplied by the students or the impressions gathered by the teacher. Technology orientation is necessary for the teacher educators to compete and ings innovation in teaching–learning.
