Mrunalini R Kanvinde, Vivek V Nalgirkar

Abstract :

The main goal of this study was to show how treadmill through Bruce protocol acts an effective measure of V̇O2max when an athlete does moderate to maximum treadmill, evaluating cardiovascular fitness. As an athlete start doing treadmill, depending on the need of oxygen to tissues, Vo2max goes on increasing depending on the frequency, intensity and duration of treadmill, through Bruce protocol. Data collection was done at D Y Patil Hospital, Navi Mumbai after taking permission from medical ethic committee. 20 athletes were asked to do treadmill through treadmill by taking into consideration duration of time. For proper results, athletes were asked to do treadmill for 2 weeks As an athlete performs treadmill, V̇O2max was found to be increased as a person goes on doing treadmill according to Bruce protocol increased. Thus in athletes, treadmill through Bruce protocol can act an effective measure of V̇O2max.(P<0.005).same as graded exercise testing
