Chitraben R. Sheth

Abstract :

The Indian textile industry is one of the largest in the world with a massive raw material and textile manufacturing base. As a US$3 billion company, Welspun group is one of the India’s fastest growing conglomerates, while as a global company, GHCL, India is customer–focused committed to high quality delivery. When the management is interested to know the movement of cash and the availability of cash, the cash flow analysis provides this information. According to Accounting Standard–3 (AS–3), cash flow is classified into three main activities namely, “Operating Activities”, “Investing Activities” and “Financing Activities”. This study helps one to know the actual liquid position or position of cash on hand and also to ascertain whether the business is able to get enough cash to meet the liabilities as and when they arise.
