Abstract :

The current study measured character strengths among business management students in acollege population (n=150) using the Values in Action Inventory of Strengths scale (VIA–IS); and tested the relationship between character strengths and various measures of well–being. Significant gender differences were found for 11 of the 24 character strengths: kindness/generosity, intimacy, gratitude, forgiveness, appreciation of beauty and excellence, prudence, equity/fairness, leadership, creativity, valor, and self–regulation. Analyses of the relationship between character strengths and measures of well–being revealed a number of significant associations, especially with Well–being and life satisfaction.
