A STUDY ON FINANCIAL PERFORMANCE OF ASIAN PAINTS LIMITED

Abstract :

  There are numerous issues that are utmost significance with factors that affect the firm’s financial distress such as high leverage, cash shortage and risk management. Given that, in many cases, economic distress may lead to firm’s insolvency. Therefore, since it is difficult to them to predict economic distress, this paper provides a moderate attempt to understand the feasibility of using financial ratios, capital structure and Altman Z–score as an empirical approach to predict financial distress in future. A  Z–score of lower than 1.8, in particular, indicates that the company is heading for bankruptcy. The study found that according to Altman Z score for Asian Paints Limited for the year 2008 – 2017 is 1.40 that denotes that the company’s risk is high in range. The company was in crisis zone and financially unsound. This is evidence for that very soon the company going bankrupt.
