A STUDY ON VALUE PATTERN OF TEACHERS WORKING IN URBAN HIGH SCHOOLS OF VISAKHAPATNAM DISTRICT OF ANDHRA PRADESH

Abstract :

In an educational institution the teachers represents a significant portion of the total human resource. Therefore the teachers have to play an important role in value oriented education which helps in developing balanced individuals and in creating a superior society. The teacher of a modern school has to play a very important role in value oriented education. Teacher must know that value education is not a sphere of activity distinct from his other professional activities as a teacher. Acquisition of values goes on constantly in the school and outside through many different activities like instruction, relationship with pupils, co-curricular activities etc. It is very important for the teacher to develop behaviour in accordance with the highest standard and ethics of their profession. This has provoked the investigator to know about the values which are existing among the teachers of high schools of Visakhapatnam District and will help to take up an authentic study on the said topic
