A survey of the Causes of Reading Difficulty of the Iranian EFL learners

Abstract :

 This survey investigated the causes of the reading difficulty in reading comprehension of the Iranian EFL learners. The study has classified the causes of the reading problems into three groups of 1. Lack of the application of reading comprehension strategies to the EFL reading 2. Complicated syntax and structure in new text 3. Inadequate linguistic competence of the EFL learners for practicing reading skills.
