An Investigation of the Relationship Between Commerce Students’ Achievement In Commerce and their Family Environment

Abstract :

This paper focuses on the comparative analysis of higher secondary Commerce students’ achievement in commerce and their family environment. The research was carried out in Namakkal District, Tamilnadu. A total number of 150 commerce students as sample. Achievement in commerce was assessed with the help of Achievement Test developed by the investigator and Family environment was assessed with the help of family environment scale developed by Dr. Harpreet Bhatia and Dr. N.K.Chandha (1993) both the data were collected through test and questionnaire with prior permission of the heads of the institutions. The result were computed by mean scores,‘t ‘test and correlation. Analysis of data revealed that there is no significant difference between male and female commerce students in their achievement in commerce and their family environment. There is positive correlation between achievement in commerce and family environment.
