Analysis of Maternal Mortality and Family Planning Services Practice Among Women in Gujarat

Abstract :

 Mortality rate in developing countries is increasing which plays an important issue and concern for the 

family planning and women’s health. Data from District Level Household surveys are examined to understand the level of maternal mortality in India, the differentials by districts of Gujarat state. The data provides information on district wise coverage of various Family Planning Methods, Antenatal care and Delivery care. Data of various 
indicators of maternal health are analyzed. It is further used to analyze the performance of districts of Gujarat state 
in providing maternal health facilities. The critical role of Antenatal check up, Institutional delivery and nutrition value 
for reduction in maternal mortality need to be addressed so as to reduce maternal mortality by three fourths by 2015 
under MDG.
