ANTIBIOTIC RESISTANCE: A GLOBAL PHENOMENON

Dr Sufia Akhtar, Dr Naiyma Choudhary, Dr Mohd Rasheed

Abstract :

Antibiotic resistance has risen to dangerously high levels worldwide leading to inabilities in treating infections. This has led to increased burden on health care professionals globally. The emergence of antibiotic resistance has been due to the inadvertent and injudicious use of these drugs, more so in countries where drugs are available without valid prescriptions. Antibiotic resistance needs to be tackled using multilevel strategies to prevent it from wreaking havoc on already overburdened health care systems across the world.
