Beneficiation Studies of Manganese Ore of Kumsi, Shimoga, Southern India

Abstract :

beneficiation of low grade manganese ores are involving liberation of unwanted species from gangue mineral. the liberation is accomplished by comminution involving various stages of crushing of the run of mine. In the present investigation an attempt has been made to upgrade the manganese ore from the deposits. high grade ore samples are directly utilized for the preparation of electrolytic manganese dioxide (EMD). Low grade ore upgrade by gravity concentration methods that is tabling and jigging the main object is to reduce the content of silica and clay associated with the ore, the concentration obtained from the process with high grade ores of the area and utilized for the preparation of EMD.
