Abstract :

 Objectives: To assess the prevalence of systolic and diastolic dysfunction in patients of chronic renal failure by echocardiography.

 Methods: A hospital based prospective observational study of systolic function and diastolic function by echocardiography. 
Results: A total 100 patients diagnosed with chronic renal failure were studied.
Conclusions: Patients with chronic renal failure have higher prevalence of diastolic dysfunction and systolic dysfunction. 
Diastolic dysfunction appears to antedate the development of systolic dysfunction
