Clinical Experience of the Tubeless PCNL using standard Equipments

Abstract :
Purpose: Tubeless percutaneous nephrolithotomy (PCNL) done under GA by a single uro–surgeon using the conventional instruments and assess the effectiveness and safety of this innovative procedure.
Materials and Methods: The analyzed outcomes were stone–free rate, hematuria, hospitalization time, blood loss, and complications.
Results: A total of 22 patients were studied in 6 months.DJ stent was not kept in 3 patients. Rest 17 patients were stented. Nephrostomy tube was not kept in any patient.
Conclusions: Tubeless PCNL is a safe and effective procedure with a stone clearance rate comparable to that of conventional PCNL. Tubeless PCNL has advantage of a shorter hospital stay, less postoperative urinary leakage, reduced Pain and minimization of analgesic requirements
