COMPARATIVE STUDY OF QUALITY OF LIFE IN AGED PERSONS

Abstract :

Aging can also affect the quality of life of the aged persons. The study has shed significant light on family and social consequences of aged persons. Over the years, there has been a shift in the population structure with an increase number of the elderly. To grow older is a natural phenomenon. Our understanding of the influence of ageing on mental health problems has undergone significant revision in past few decades. Mental health of elderly is influenced by ageing changes in the body and ain, socio– economic and psychological factors. The present study was designed to understand individual and gender differences in quality of life in old age. For this, 60 aged persons, between 60–84 years of age were evaluated on Quality of life (WHOQOL–BREF), out of 60 participants 30 were males and 30 were females. Obtained data were analyzed by applying t test.
