EFFECT OF STRUCTURED TEACHING PROGRAMME ON KNOWLEDGE OF STAFF NURSES REGARDING PREVENTION OF CLOSTRIDIUM DIFFICILE INFECTION IN A TERTIARY CARE HOSPITAL

Abstract :

Clostridium difficileis a gram–positive, spore–forming anaerobic bacteria .A quantitative pre experimental one group pre–test post–test design was used  to collect data from 70 subjects by sample of convenience .Data were collectedby usingdemographicdatasheet and Structured knowledge questionnaire .Intervention of structured teaching programme was given immediately after pre–test. Post–test was done 14 days after the intervention. Analysiswasdonebydescriptiveandinferentialstatistics. Themean  pre –testknowledgescorewas 8.2 and the    mean post test  knowledge score  was 22.3 after the intervention  .The study concluded that structured teaching programme was effective in enhancing the knowledge  of staff nurse.
