Efficacy of traditional marketing strategy of Bell metal handicraft of Assam

Abstract :
Bell metal handicraft is one of the oldest and important handicrafts of Assam. This handicraft has historical importance. Traditionally, different kinds of utensils and items have been made in the handicraft. Most of the utensils and items are socially and culturally attached with the Assamese people. The workers use traditional tools and techniques. This handicraft is associated with the culture of other States of the country. Some products have international demand. We cannot think about the Buddhist religious ritual without the use of some products which are made only in Assam. The marketing strategy of this handicraft is interesting. Though the strategy is traditional, it is found successful. This may be a model for other handicraft industries of the country.
