Abstract :

Aims & objectives:– 1) To evaluate the use of computed tomography imaging to assess the accuracy in the detection of spread and staging of gallbladder carcinoma. 2) To evaluate if CT findings influenced the management and treatment planning in patients with ca gall bladder. Materials and Methods:– This is a prospective conducted at Tertiary care centre, from July 2017 to November 2018 involving 40 patients, in whom mass lesion is seen USG & FNAC/ Biopsy proves it to be a case of carcinoma Gall bladder. Equipment used during study was–Siemens Dual slice Helical Somatom Emotion Duo CT scanner using multidetector CT with two slice spiral CT scanner, Somatom, Siemens (Germany) Result :– 1) The CT imaging is fairly accurate in the detection of spread and staging of gallbladder carcinoma .can evaluate the loco regional spread in a case of gall bladder malignancies with the use of spiral CT 2) CT imaging can help in determining respectability and in planning the treatment, especially in advanced–stage gallbladder carcinoma, because of a high positive predictive value.
