Abstract :

The present study deals with the field level study on the impact of different quantities of electroplating  industry effluent residue (250, 500, 750, 1000 and 1250 mg) on growth, biochemical characteristics and  yield of Green gram Phaselous trilobatus . Germination percentage of the Green gram was higher in T3  (100 %) and  lower in T5  (70%).Shoot and root length of the Green gram were higher in T3  with 750 mg and lower in T5  with 1250  mg of zinc electroplating industry effluent residue on 60th day. Total fresh and dry weight of Green gram were higher  in T3 and lower in T5 .Leaf area index and vigour index of Green gram was higher in T3 . Chlorophyll a,b, total chlorophyll, anthocyanin, carotenoids, total sugar, total protein and yield of Green gram was higher in T3  and lower in T5 .
