Abstract :

Solid pseudo papillary tumor (SPT) or Frantz‘s tumor is a slow–growing low–grade malignant tumor, commonly seen in young patients with a female predominance, which is commonly located in the body and tail of the pancreas.  Though it shows low malignant potential 10% to 15% of the cases show aggressive behavior with metastatic involvement of the liver. The symptoms include abdominal discomfort and abdominal pain. It is very rare in childhood. We report a case of SPT arising from the body of the pancreas in a 13–year–old girl who presented with pain in abdomen and treated successfully by enucleation of the tumor.
