GRADENIGO‘S SYNDROME–A RARE CASE REPORT

Abstract :

 The syndrome of constant otorrhea, headache, and diplopia, which is attributed to inflammation of the  petrous apex, is known as Gradenigo‘s syndrome. It is often the result of chronic otitis media with longstanding purulent otorrhea, we report a case of a 65 year old male patient with the history of discharge in the left  ear for the past 6 months,double vision and pain over the left side of face, headache ,giddines , and intermittent  fever for 3 months with bilateral 6th cranial nerve palsy and left 5th.7th and 8th cranial nerve palsies. Motor , sensory and cerebellar system examination found to be normal.. MRI ain showed T1 isointense petrous and mastoid  parts of the left temporal bone.The middle ear structures and external auditory canal were also isointense,The clinical and radiological findings helped to establish the diagnosis of gradenigo‘s syndrome.
