ICT in Teaching: A Critical Overview

Abstract :

 The use of information and communication technology (ICT) such as Internet application, CD–ROMS, Video–Technologies and various computer attachments and software programmes have caused many changes in society as well as in field of education. Teaching profession has also been affected by the dimensions of ICT. Uses of ICT in teaching and learning process involve a number of senses and thus it can be a potential tool for enhancing teaching and learning process. It has many advantages over the traditional teaching and learning approach. However, every new technology ings with positive and negative impacts and it cannot be a substitute of good teacher and it has to be properly and judiciously used by the teacher and learner to reap the benefits. Therefore, in this paper authors are analyzing the positive and negative aspects of ICT in teaching and teaching –learning process.
