Indigenous Knowledge on Nomenclature of water Storage structures in Tirumala foothill villages

Abstract :

The present study focuses on indigenous knowledge on the nomenclature of water storage structures in Tirumala foothill villages in Chittoor district, Andhra Pradesh. The main thrust is laid on local knowledge on the categorization of water resources based on the utilization and nature of formation of the water storage structures.
