Malignant fibrohistocytoma of orbit (A case Report)

Abstract :

 We present an unusual case of 35 year old female with complaint of huge growth from left orbit since 1 year. She was diagnosed case of HIV infection and on Anti–retroviral treatment since 4 years. A large firm tumor mass of size 6*5 cm completely filling the left orbit, with no externally visible eyeball structure. The MRI showed ill–defined mass filling entire orbit surrounding globe and extending to left temporal bone. No intracranial extension was seen Total orbital exenteration of left orbit was performed. The histopathological examination showed it to be case of malignant fious histocytoma compressing eyeball. Immunohistochemistry was done to confirm the diagnosis. Patient was referred for further adjuvant radiotherapy and chemotherapy. No recurrence or distant metastasis was seen over a 6 month follow up
