Participation of Scheduled reo Castes and Scheduled Tribes in the rising enrollemnts in the Private Schools in India

Abstract :

There has been a significant rise in the enrollents in the private schools in India at primary and upper primary level. The study uses DISE data to presents that the participation of children from Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes in the rising private school enrollemnts in primary and upper primary levels ahs been less than that of other Caste Categories. The paricipation of lower castes in this riding privatization of elementary education has been worse in the lower income castes as compraed to that in case of upper income states.
